Every day someone will call to say they found a very friendly "stray" cat. Sometimes they think the cat was dumped on their property but many times the cat has simply wandered away from it's home. Mother cats usually go off to find a quiet secluded place to give birth or hide their kittens. They're often found by someone else in a barn or under a porch then brought into the rescue.

When a stray cat is surrendered to Little Mews Rescue, we make an effort to try to get the cat back to where it belongs. We scan for a microchip, post photos on Facebook or put an ad in the Pennysaver.  Little Mews is a "no-kill" rescue, if a cat isn't claimed, it's put up for adoption.

If your cat is missing, or if you've found one, please let us know immediately.
